About Robbie

It all started his junior year in college, when he stole his first guitar.  He took it back to his dorm room and began to strum.  His roomate hated it.  But alas, his roomate knew his one weakness... cigarette smoke.
Let's just say that Robbie struggled at the beginning.  It got to the point where every time he picked up a guitar to practice, his roomate would light up a cigarette, and he'd end up practicing out on the roof.

But he kept at it, until he learned every Bruce Springsteen song known to man.  He played his first paid gig two years later at a small bar in Athens, Georgia.  He played for about 3 hours.  2 hours and 50 minutes of that was Bruce Springsteen covers.  It wasn't long before his "fans" were pleading with him to learn other music.  So, he cracked under the pressure of an angry Over-Springsteened mob.

Robbie began to learn all kinds of music.  Sadly, no matter what artist he covered, every song sounded like Bruce Springsteen.  It wasn't long before he became known as "the guy who sounds like Bruce."   It took a while, but after a few years of covering other artists, the voice of Bruce inside of him faded into the background.

Robbie released his first original CD in 2005.  He is still singing cover songs, and is now interspersing some original music as well.  While he has supressed  the Springsteen sound within, he can still summon it to the microphone from time to time.  Often, when you least expect it.  Enjoy the website... and the music... hope to see you soon... somewhere down Thunder Road.
